The Building and Grounds Department is responsible for providing the County with clean, safe, and attractive buildings and grounds and for other services including maintenance, repair and janitorial tasks of County owned buildings. The department also oversees the operations of Park Station Campground and Recreation Center , Harris Hill Park and the Robert S. Turner Chemung County Fairgrounds.
Effective November 1, 2007, smoking at Harris Hill and Park Station is permitted only in designated areas. At Harris Hill, the smoking area is opposite the main restrooms. At Park Station, the smoking area is 100 yards beyond and opposite from the Control Booth. Smoking is also permitted at Park Station at campsites. The smoking areas are clearly marked "smoking permitted."
