MPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

Chemung County is replacing their computer system that manages health insurance enrollment and payment information.  Please be advised there are two parts to this transition.  

1. BSWIFT manages membership and enrollment with a self-service portal.  

2. WEX system manages retiree/survivor and COBRA payments and has a self-service portal.  

Both of these systems are being provided through ebenefit Marketplace (EBM).  Please see each section below regarding this conversion.  We appreciate all our members patience and understanding as we work through this transition.


BSWIFT ANNOUNCEMENT 

Chemung County is migrating to a new self-service platform for health insurance benefit administration for employees and retirees.  All health insurance-eligible employees must sign on to the BSwift system regardless of whether they enroll, waive, or buyout, plus any current retirees and survivors to verify their data in the system, make corrections, add missing information, and select their 2024 election. RETIREE/SURVIVOR AND COBRA PAYMENTS FOR HEALTH INSURANCE 

Welcome letters have been mailed out  to members who have a payment due for January 2024.  Members will receive their mailing closer to the time that they have their first payment due.  Retiree/Survivor/COBRA payments in 2024 are  now sent to ebenefit Marketplace (EBM).  We are working with EBM to smooth out any issues that may arise during this transition.  Please see links below to give more details about making payments and a link to the WEX payment portal.

UHC Medicare Plan will be issuing new ID cards 1/1/24 to our membership. The new ID cards will be issued by the carrier.   This is an administrative change only.  Begin using your new ID card on 1/1/24.


United Health Care (UHC) Medicare PPO Mail Order and Prescriptions
Please be advised members enrolled in the UHC Medicare plan will no longer be able to utilize Express Scripts for their mail order. UHC's mail order is OptumRx, which you will see referenced on the bottom of your ID card.

Please call the customer service number on the back of your ID card to learn how to get set up with OptumRx.  You can choose to fill your Rx at a participating pharmacy and pay 2 copays for a 90 day supply OR choose to utilize Optum Rx mail order and pay 1 copay for a 90 day supply.

You may call UHC customer service number (800) 457-8506 8am-8pm local time, to go over your prescriptions so you know what tier copay they are in or any special information you may need to know.  You can also find out about benefits, participating pharmacies, providers, fitness plan or any other coverage questions.

A letter  will be mailed out to our members enrolled in UHC regarding mail order and prior authorization in February 2022.

PROVIDER UPDATE IN EXCELLUS MEDICAL PLAN:  WELLNOW has notified Excellus of their intent to leave the Excellus Network as a participating provider effective January 1, 2024.  You may continue to use their services through December 31, 2023 as a participating provider.   Excellus will continue negotiations in good faith in hopes they will agree to remain a participating provider in 2024.  If an agreement is not obtained, they will become a non-participating provider in 2024.
