Chemung County Executive Christopher J. Moss has proclaimed Chemung County Gold Medal Athlete Week beginning today, Thursday, March 16th, 2023, through Wednesday, March 22, 2023, in recognition of outstanding local athletes who have demonstrated exceptional performance and dedication in their respective sports.
The Chemung County Executive will meet with all the athletes during Gold Medal Athlete Week. The honorees include Cullen Cole, Ty Bolt, Alexander Smith, Trent Bellman, Skylar Shaddock, Alexander Gable, and Frankie D'Angelo, who have brought great honor and recognition to themselves and to Chemung County through their athletic accomplishments. Their achievements include Cullen Cole's first place, 2023 New York State Boys Swimming Championship, with an All-American time of 20.51 seconds in the 50 Yard Freestyle, and the Elmira City School District’s first place, 2023 New York State’s Division #1 Boys Bowling Championship.
"We are proud to recognize these outstanding individuals for their exceptional athletic ability and dedication to their sport," said Chris Moss, County Executive of Chemung County. "Their achievements serve as an inspiration to all of us and showcase the talent and determination of our local athletes."
The Chemung County Gold Medal Athlete Week proclamation acknowledges the contributions of these athletes to sports and physical activity in Chemung County. It also encourages all residents of Chemung County to join in celebrating their remarkable achievements. This special day provides an opportunity to honor and recognize the hard work, dedication, and commitment of these local athletes, and to thank them for being positive role models for young people in our community.
