On Wednesday, October 19th, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Chemung County Nursing Facility is hosting a celebration to recognize nine residents who are 100 years or older.
It is aptly named the “Celebration of the Century.”
Residents being honored are Margaret Carter (103), Jane Collins-Deyoe (104), Esther Hammond (101), Betty Hatfield (102), Winnifred Patterson (104), Harry Pryslak (100), Edna Mae Taylor (100), Ruth Touschner (109), and Mary Whitford (104).
Guests in attendance will include the Chemung County Executive, Deputy County Executive, Chemung County legislators, Chemung county department heads, family members, and facility staff.
The honored residents have been homemakers, started businesses, businessmen, and businesswomen, fought in WWII, observed 100 years of history, have over 36 great-grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and several have great, great-grandchildren.
The celebration will include a display for each resident, opportunities for family photos, and light refreshments.
