Chemung County Natural Resources Map

Our county is rich with many natural resources, including species of plants and animals that are rapidly disappearing. Working with other organizations the Environmental Management Council (EMC) hopes to identify much of what we have in the form of a natural resource inventory. This map marks the beginning steps of doing just that.

Special thanks to Nicholas Conrad, NY Natural Heritage Program, Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), Mary Ruth Kessler, James W. Sewall Co., Karen Miner, Chemung County Director of Public Information, William Ostrander, Chemung Valley Audubon Society, Chris Yearick, Upper Susquehanna Coalition as well as the cooperative efforts of the Environmental Management Council.
