Catlin state forest is a 613 acre forest composed of three small separate sections. Purchase of the land began in 1933, and 17 separate parcels of land were bought and added too the forest between then and 1988. There are no permeant defined trails, but deer trails and old farm roads make the inside of the forest more accessible than it would otherwise be. Additional opportunities for recreation include primitive camping, hunting and wildlife surveillance.
