Encompassing 815 acres of pristine wooded land, Fairfield state forest offers beautiful hiking opportunities near the town of Candor. While there are no official trails, hiking is allowed anywhere on the property that does not explicitly say otherwise, and there is plenty of sightseeing to be had while you look for over a dozen common bird species and half a dozen common and rare mammal species.
