Established in 1995, the Stevenson Forest preserve began with a donation of 25 acres from Elizabeth Stevenson whose family had been in ownership of the late since the end of the revolutionary war. Additional parcels were incorporated in 1998 and 1999 bringing the preserve up to its current size of 83 acres.
